How it happened that I started this day puppy-less and ended this day puppy-ful is beyond me. I am quite certain it has to do with my hopeless non-ability to say no to Greg when he wants something bad.
And he wanted a puppy bad.
For the longest time it's just been the two of us. Me and Greg, Greg and me. Today he finally convinced me that it is getting boring with just the two of us. And then there were three.
And now, adorable pictures. Meet our puppy.
He's a poodle because it is absolutely the only type of dog I would agree to. Poodles are small, playful, and most importantly, they don't shed. Oh, and their farts seem to be pretty mild which is always a plus when you are puppy shopping, believe you me!
This little guy is still nameless. Tomorrow I'll give you all the deets on how in a matter of seconds Greg and I had gone and committed ourselves to years of endless responsibility with a dog.
We're crazy, is basically all you need to know.

STOP! My poodle looked just like that but she was a little bit smaller... color and all! She lived for 16 years! Congratulations!!! That's so fun!
ReplyDeleteOMG he is absolutely adorable!! Good call on getting a shed-less dog, we have a German Shepherd and the shedding is awful and gets all over everything (especially black clothes)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more of him!
SO. CUTE. I want another dog please!
ReplyDeleteCongrats - you both are officially parents!
ReplyDeletehe is such a little cutie pie and greg looks about 8 years old in his excitement!! also little puppy there looks like he doesn't quite know what he got himself into. this is just making me want a puppy even more. also, you should consider naming him pumpkin because of his color (or latte in honor of pumpkin spice lattes if that is your thing ;) love him already and i can't wait to hear more details!!
ReplyDeleteoh my word. that is possibly the cutest dog i've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteOh my freakin' goodness, look at his cute little puppy face! GAH! You're giving me puppy-hunger...
ReplyDeleteAre you sure this was all his idea? :)
ReplyDeleteYou can't resist gingers, eh? The pup is absolutely adorable- congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHe. Is. Adorable!!! I just want to hold him and kiss him! I have two cockapoos who looked similar when they were puppies! A puppy changes everything but in an awesome way!! Enjoy getting to know him!!
ReplyDeletecute cute cute!!!
ReplyDeleteWe lived in a pet-free zone, self-imposed, until we moved halfway across the country and I caved into my children because they were miserable. It was the best thing I ever did. Our dog is everything to me now., they touch your hearts in ways you would not think possible. Your puppy is precious! Enjoy him,
ReplyDeleteThat is literally the cutest thing I've ever seen. I didn't even know poodles could be that wonderful color! Good luck with the new pup!
ReplyDeleteI'm going there! He's a ginger just like your hubs!!!! haha!! very cute (the dog, not your hubs) (not saying that your hubs isn't cute, but I meant the dog, haah!)
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he fits right in :) Very cute!
ReplyDeleteOMG he's so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteAHHH! Looking at puppy pictures NEVER gets old. He is so stinkin' cute. I can't wait to see what name you come up with!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOMG, the cuteness!!!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I kid you not this is how my mom got a puppy. I lived with her for 19 years...PUPPY-LESS. I moved out and New Years Day 2011 she woke and said to my Dad "I want a puppy". Two hours later, they had one. She says for the first three weeks she woke up every day and said "maybe I will bring her back today". But it all worked out! We LOVE HER!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the strange world of being a doggy mama! I love it, even though it's very stressful at times. Dogs are the best and it's so fun to watch them grow and learn. Kind of like kids...except cuter. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Rambling Fangirl

ReplyDeleteyay for puppies!! puppies are the best :) (well, dogs in general are the best. puppies are so fun and cute but so much work! gotta love them anyway!!)
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh!!! So cute! We have a malti-poo and he is certainly more poodle than maltese. Gotta love em'! THe best things about dogs are their unconditional love so you basically committed yourself to years of love and wet kisses! Rejoice!
ReplyDeleteThat dog is so cute, I'm dying.
ReplyDeleteI say this with all seriousness, this is the first time owning a dog didn't look like a horrible nightmare. I am not a dog person, but he's SO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute!!!!!! And poodles are usually hypoallergenic! The only kind of dog I could ever get would be one that doesn't make me sneeze all the time or break out into hives.
ReplyDeleteomg, SO CUTE! congrats! i talked my husband into a puppy last summer and 120lbs later we have a very big dog on our hands :) but he totally brings so much fun to our lives. good luck with your pup! and i will say the biting stage does pass...in case you're dealing with that...ours seemed endless!!

ReplyDeleteHe's so precious! Congrats on your new addition! I truly, with my whole heart, hope you adopted him, and if so, please share the Rescue group here so your followers will check them out! You have such a big, awesome following, and can make a huge difference to the millions of dogs trapped in puppy mills (which supply puppy stores) and the 10,000 needlessly killed each day in shelters across the country.
ReplyDeleteI hope so, too. I doubt it, though. :(
DeleteOne of the cutest puppies ever!! Let us know as soon as you have a name for him! xxx
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! I have a 6 month old toy poodle/havanese (havapoo) and I love that he has poodle in him, because they are so stinking smart! Last month we taught him to ring a bell when he wants to go outside. Lots of treats and lots of love go a long way!!
ReplyDeleteHe is SO CUTE! And his hair color totally matches Greg's, ha!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Bonnie! Ive had poodles on my mind for a while. We went to this thing called "Poodle Parade" in Carmel/Monterey, Ca and I was in heaven. So many sizes and colors. I want one so badly right now.

ReplyDeleteI love him!!!!! So so sweet. So I may have only had my little guy for a few months now but I want another!!
ReplyDeleteHe looks just like the toy poodle we had when I was younger. Loved him!!! Hope you come up with a name soon.
ReplyDeleteAwww.. Congrats to the New Mommy & Daddy! As a self proclaimed animal know it all (and I've worked in animal hospitals, barns, pet shops, and groomers).. I would suggest that once you get this little precious a name, take it to a groomer and get it's eyes clipped. That will prevent the hair from causing any damage to it's eyes (which can be bad) and also it will start early with teaching your baby how to handle grooming, which it will need for the rest of it's life and make it less traumatic in the times to come-- the earlier you start the better!!
