How to Get the Most Out of Your Tailgating Experience

Thank you to Sam’s Club for sponsoring today’s post
and helping me get ready for tailgating this Football Season.

Welp, folks.  It's football season!

When I was a senior at BYU I somehow landed front row tickets to the big game against our number one rivals.  It was the end of November and absolutely freezing, but it was more than worth it to see my team up close and personal battling it out on the field.  BYU won in a nail biter right at the buzzer and BYU fans rushed the field in a frenzy of excitement.  It is one of my sweetest college memories.

Those are the types of experiences that get me pumped up for football every year.  I will admit that unless we have a stellar team, I tend to not always 100% interested in the game.  I'll tell you what I am interested in, though- hanging out with my friends.  Before the game, during the game, after.  I love the spirit of friendship and camaraderie that football brings.

Which brings me to one of the greatest things ever invented- tailgating!  I don't think there exists a greater idea in the whole world than that of showing up early to a game, hanging out with your buddies, and stuffing your face with every delicious food possible.  It is all my favorite things in life combined together.

The only problem with tailgating is being able to afford food for such large groups of people.  I love to host and whether it's in the parking lot of the stadium or in my own home, I enjoy throwing a party and feeding food to people.  Sam's Club has got the hook up for great prices on all of your tailgating essentials.  It is so much cheaper than a regular grocery store and there's enough food to feed, well... a football team.

Let's play the price is right Sam's Club Edition.  You predict how much each of the below items costs and then click on the link to see how much it really costs.  I promise you the price will blow you away.  Of the food items, which one do you predict costs the most?  I was shocked, myself.  (Also I want to see how good you are at predicting prices for food in bulk- I need to meet the man who knows who much 54 ounces of Skittles is going for nowadays!)

Wolfgang Puck 10-Cup Digital Multi cooker// 2 Pack Hidden Valley Ranch//

Skittles Original Flavor 54 Oz Bag// 2 pack Kraft Velveeta Cheese//

Hormel Chilli No Beans// 65" Samsung LED 1080p 3D Smart HDTV

And as always, I thank YOU for reading my sponsored posts, clicking on the links, and helping support my family.  Because of the support I have from such terrific readers I am able to stay at home part time with my baby- you don't know how much it means to me.

AND NOW, WEEKEND!  I'm spending Friday night at the high school to watch our football boys win another game.  They're undefeated so far... is a state championship in the air?

  2. Bonnie, you go Disqus?!?!?!?! I know that has nothing to do with your post, I was just so excited when I saw it here!!! And I'm with you, I really like hosting people more than I like watching the football!

  4. Hmmm, are you talking about the game in 2007? I remember that sweet sweet win against the Utes.

  5. Yes! I figured after Monday's discussion it was an absolute must!

  6. Yes! It was on my priority list for the week. Are you a disqus pro? I have quite a few questions if you are. If I still want to respond to someone by email can I? Now when I get comments on my blog my email says that they are all from me instead of saying the name of the individual commenter. Do you know what's up with that?

  7. Also do you know how to change it so that the first comments appear at the top instead of at the bottom?

  8. I worked for Events too! Look how far we've come!

  9. Also will someone see my response if they don't have disqus? Does it email my response to them or does it just email a notification that there is a response and to check the original post? So many questions!

  12. It will e-mail them the response the same way it e-mails you their comment! So as long as they've commented, from what I understand, they get your response and know you've responded :) It's why I love Disqus so much, you can still keep the conversation going in your comments like I know you love, but people are alerted so they remember to come back and continue talking with you!

  13. I believe you can still just respond by e-mail. It should have their e-mail listed below the comment in your inbox, and you could just e-mail respond. But, from what people have told me (and I've never tried this yet). If you reply directly to the e-mail showing the comment, it will post below their comment here on the blog, if that makes sense. For some reason I don't trust that though, and I respond to multiple comments at once, so I just come to the page to respond.

  14. I'm not sure on this one. Mine have been showing up in random order lately, some stay at the top and everything posts underneath, it's weird. It may be in your settings somewhere that you can do that though?

  15. Oh, and for the name showing up thing, that's weird. Mine just always says I have a notification from Disqus and then when I click on the e-mail, it shows me who commented.

  16. Not a fan of football, but the food? Now that is something I can get behind!!

  17. Hey I just added Disqus to my site. I was going over the settings and it has a default sort. It's under the general settings. It's automatically set to 'Best first' based on votes. You can change it to Newest First or Oldest First. I hope this helps!!

  18. Thanks Stephanie! I can't seem to find the general settings tab, but I will get there! I only see a "settings" tab and it doesn't have any options that have to do with order of comments. Frustrating!

  19. Yah, mine only shows who commented if I look at the actual site, in my email it says that everything is a response from myself... ?

  20. You're awesome Amberly! Thanks for responding to all of these.

  21. Hmm.. that's strange. You may have to contact Disqus about that one, they might know what's going on. :P They're pretty good about responding!
